I read that the Hawaiian island of Kauai's name has no particular meaning, but I also read Kuai is the name of a dish made of fresh fish, in ancient Chinese. Wikipedia says:""Kuai was a Chinese dish consisting of finely cut strips of raw meat or fish, which was popular in the early Chinese dynasties". (obvi I am not an anthropologist but I do want to try poke).
