For me, this is an eye opener and a game changer! You've heard of acne-prone skin, but have you heard of "impure skin"? I haven't been this excited since I first learned about the difference between dry and dehydrated (lacking in oil and lacking in water, respectively).
Here's the difference - if you're acne prone, you tend to get inflamed pimples. Impure skin tends to experience blocked pores, whteheads and blackheads which may or not turn into pimples. It's the difference between breaking out in "pimples" and having congested skin, or "impurities".
If this is a major lightbulb moment for you as well, you like me will probably also realise that these different skin concerns need different products.
Impure skin needs products that focus on skin turnover, pore cleansing and might benefit from gentle acids and milk based products, which might or not be suitable for acne-prone skin. It also needs spot treatments for the occasional actual pimple.
I've found a website called Niche Beauty which has product recommendations for this category of skincare concern from beauty insiders and skincare experts.
